Its quite warm in the bubble

God bless me but it is a pain in the ass to do anything with windows if you don’t have a base windows system to start with. I’m just trying to get Windows on an eee pc right now, and I’ve been hacking at this shit for half the night. The whole time really spent just trying to get Windows to boot properly on one machine, so I can make the necessary boot USB drive (which depends on utilities that only exist for Windows).

Thus far, I’ve failed for any number of mind numbing and frustrating reasons. I suppose I should just be grateful that I haven’t managed to completely brick the iMac in the process!

If nothing else, when I get to work tomorrow I can use a Windows machine thats laying around there to do the work on, but its the damn principle of the thing that what I’m trying just isn’t that damn hard! And thats what’s got me up at 1:00am farting around with computers trying to achieve some functionality that I could honestly get just buy buying an $80 piece of hardware.

In conclusion, I’d just like to say that these are the following things I hate:
USB sticks
USB in general
Master Boot Records
Image Files
Parallels
Windows

I suppose the last one goes without saying, but I felt it was necessary to toss it in there.
